Colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in
the US. Based on trend, more than 131,000 americans are expected to
be diagnosed with colon cancer this year and about 56,000 are expected
to die from colon cancer. Eating a low-fiber, high-fat diet, being overweight,
smoking, and having an inactive lifestyle can increase your risk of
developing colon cancer.
Colon cancer is preventable. A healthy colon is essential to good health
and to prevent colon cancer. Everything we eat ends up in our bowels
as toxins. As these toxins build up, we end up with various diseases,
such as being overweight, constipation, candida and colon cancer. Colon
cleansing, parasite cleansing, and detoxing is very important.
COLON-clean is a gentle combination of HERBAL
ingredients for COLON CLEANSING and for the muscle tone of colon
walls. It cleanses the bowels. COLON-clean is more gentle than NAT-LAX
TNT.
Colon Clean tone the colonic smooth muscles so as to achieve normal
peristalsis. Due to the effective action on the colon, this herbal combination
is used extensively by Colon Hydrotherapists during and following colon
hydrotherapy treatments.
Ingredients:
Barberry, Cascara Segrada, Cayenne, Fennel, Ginger Root, Goldenseal,
Lobelia, Red Raspberry, Turkey, Rhubarb
Barberry
Barberry has a long history of use as a folk remedy for digestive disorders,
infection, indigestion, gallbladder disease and heartburn. The active
ingredients in barberry are thought to be the isoquinolone alkaloids,
particularly berberine. Research studies indicate that the alkaloid
berberine may fight bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections.
Another alkaloid in barberry, called berberamine, is believed to help
fight infections by stimulating white blood cells called macrophages.
Cascara Segrada
A herbal laxative. Known for its action to improve the muscle tone of
the colon walls.
Fennel
It is recommended for numerous complaints related to excessive gas in
the stomach and intestines, including indigestion, cramps, and bloating,
as well as for colic in infants. Other Apiaceae family members, such
as dill and caraway, also are considered carminatives.
As an antispasmodic, fennel acts on the smooth muscle of the respiratory
passages as well as the stomach and intestines; this is the reason that
fennel preparations are used to relieve bronchial spasms. Since it relaxes
bronchial passages, allowing them to open wider, it is sometimes included
in asthma, bronchitis, and cough formulas.
Fennel long has been used to promote milk production in nursing mothers.
And because of its antispasmodic activity, breastfed infants whose mothers
drink fennel tea are less likely to suffer from colic than other babies.
Goldenseal
Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis) is one of the most popular herbs on
the market today. It was traditionally used by Native Americans to treat
skin disorders, digestive problems, liver conditions, diarrhea, and
eye irritations. Goldenseal became part of early colonial medical care
as the European settlers learned of it from the Iroquois and other tribes.
Goldenseal is a bitter that stimulates the secretion and flow of bile,
and can also be used as an expectorant. It also has strong activity
against a variety of bacteria, yeast, and fungi, such as E. Coli and
Candida.
Goldenseal is used for infections of the mucus membranes, including
the mouth, sinuses, throat, the intestines, stomach, urinary tract and
vagina.
Lobelia
Also called Indian tobacco, has a long history of use as an herbal remedy
for respiratory conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia, and
cough. Native Americans historically have smoked lobelia as a treatment
for asthma. In the 19th century, American physicians prescribed lobelia
to induce vomiting in order remove toxins from the body. Because of
this, it earned the name "puke weed." Today, lobelia is considered effective
in helping clear mucus from the respiratory tract, including the throat,
lungs, and bronchial tubes. Although few studies have thoroughly evaluated
the safety and effectiveness of lobelia, some herbalists today incorporate
lobelia into a comprehensive treatment plan for asthma.
Red Raspberry
Raspberry bushes are native to North America but are cultivated in other
countries including Canada. Although it is best known for its delicious
red berries, raspberry leaves have a number of medical applications.
They have been used in connection with the common cold, sore throats,
diarrhea, pregnancy, and postpartum support.
In pregnancy it was traditionally used to help with nausea, ease labor
and delivery, and post- partum recovery. It is also helpful for regulating
menstrual period and controlling diarrhea.
Raspberry leaf tea also acts as an astringent on irritated skin by tightening
the top layers of skin or mucous membranes effectively reducing secretions,
relieving irritation, and improving tissue firmness. As a mouth wash
it is used to soothe mouth and throat irritations.
Turkey Rhubarb
Turkey rhubarb has been used as a purgative for at least 2,000 years.
Its used was recorded in the Chinese medical text Divine Husbandman's
Classic of the Materia Medica nearly two centuries before the beginning
of the Christian era. Rhubarb roots are dug in September or October
after the stem and leaves of the plant are withered by frost. The roots
should only dug after the plants are at least three years old, and the
maximum effectiveness of the roots as a purgative requires that they
be aged for 12 to 18 months. Constituents includeanthaquinone glycosides
including chrysophanol, emodin, aloe-emodin, rhein, physcion; as well
as cinnamic acid, calcium oxalate, fructose, glucose, tannic acids,
and sennosides A, B, and C. Combined with cinnamon to relieve chronic
constipation, Mugwort to relieve flank pain, peony for constipation
and hemorrhoids, or with magnolia bark and bitter orange for constipation
accompanied by high fever Like buckthorn, cascara sagrada, frangula,
and senna, turkey rhubarb encourages bowel movement by inhibiting the
smooth muscles that retain stool and stimulating the smooth muscles
that push stool through the intestine. The herb doesn't work unless
the sennosides in the herb are transformed into rheinanthrones by beneficial
bacteria in the colon. Rhubarb is more appropriate than senna, however,
when irregularity follows treatment with antibiotics; it is less dependent
on the symbiotic bacteria of the colon. Ginger Medicinal properties
Ginger has long been ascribed aphrodisiac powers, taken either internally
or externally. It is mentioned in the Karma Sutra, and in the Melanesian
Islands of the South Pacific it is employed ‘to gain the affection of
a woman’. Conversely, in the Philippines it is chewed to expel evil
spirits.
Ginger Root
Ginger is a known diaphoretic, meaning it causes one to sweat. It was
recorded that Henry VIII instructed the mayor of London to use ginger’s
diaphoretic qualities as a plague medicine.
Ginger is most commonly known for its effectiveness as a digestive aid.
By increasing the production of digestive fluids and saliva, Ginger
helps relieve indigestion, gas pains, diarrhea and stomach cramping.
The primary known constituents of Ginger Root include gingerols, zingibain,
bisabolenel, oleoresins, starch, essential oil (zingiberene, zingiberole,
camphene, cineol, borneol), mucilage, and protein. Ginger root is also
used to treat nausea related to both motion sickness and morning sickness.
Ginger has been found to be even more effective than Dramamine® in curbing
motion sickness, without causing drowsiness.
Ginger's anti-inflammatory properties help relieve pain and reduce inflammation
associated with arthritis, rheumatism and muscle spasms. Ginger's therapeutic
properties effectively stimulate circulation of the blood, removing
toxins from the body, cleansing the bowels and kidneys, and nourishing
the skin. Other uses for Ginger Root include the treatment of asthma,
bronchitis and other respiratory problems by loosening and expelling
phlegm from the lungs. Ginger Root may also be used to help break fevers
by warming the body and increasing perspiration.
